About
From WIN-ipedia - information and strategies about winning
What is WIN-ipedia for?
This site is designed (like most 'Wikis') to be an ever-growing, interlinked collection of articles, resources and information. We invite you to enjoy what is already here, but also to add content of your own. You can edit, or add to, an existing page, or create a completely new page of information yourself.
Wikis are based on a notion called "The Wisdom of Crowds"
... this calls for a clear, friendly, attitude of sharing and learning from each other. With the accumulated wisdom of experienced and knowledgeable visitors, WIN-ipedia should grow to become an invaluable encyclopedic resource for anyone wanting to avoid losing at anything - ever again.
As you browse through the site you will see many links to other pages. Links in blue denote active pages. Links that are red are for pages where content has not yet been prepared. If you can help by adding to these 'orphan' pages, please register and then you will be able to add information.

What software are we using for this site
- The site is built with Mediawiki. This is 'free' software originally written for Wikipedia. Although the software does not incur any inital costs - it is resource heavy (requiring PHP 5.1.x and MySQL 4.0, for example). The installation also requires some understanding of PHP coding.
- The site is hosted by Mediacath
- We recommend Firefox as an Internet browser - it isn't essential, it's just the best!
