Bingo is a game that has a history that dates back to the 16th century, where its origin is believed to be in Italy, around the year, 1530. The game was then played in small county fairs using numbered discs and beans. The game was then referred to as Beano and it was only after migrating to France in the late 1700s that it became a form of entertainment to the wealthy.

Beano rapidly became a popular pastime at parties and County fairs. It was in 1929 that the game got its name "Bingo". The story goes that a player (on getting his winning combination) yelled the word by mistake.
